All is not well in the village of Emmerdale. The soap gets the thumbs down from shooters for its erroneous portrayal of a “partridge shoot” in a recent episode
Shooters are outraged at the portrayal of their sport in a recent episode of the Yorkshire-based soap Emmerdale.
Dubbed the Archers on television, guns were handled dangerously throughout and there was not a picker-up in sight as partridge landed within feet of “the Guns”. One “ST” reader joked: I want to start shooting and got an insight into what happens on a toffs’ day, and it gave me a lot to think about: gambling, standing on a peg drinking spirits, can it really be like this? Can I get a half-gun in that shoot next year — some of those Dingle lasses are quite cute.
A spokesman from Emmerdale was unavailable for comment as ST went to press, but the production company assured ST that it would be looking into the amount of research carried out and would make its findings available.
