The Midland game fair attracts record numbers
Athony Poolman, a pigeon shooter who has been shooting clays regularly for
just four months, won the Mitsubishi Motors World Series final at
the Midland Game Fair last week. Mr Poolman beat off stiff competition, including Richard Faulds, Olympic medallist and FITASC World Champion.
The competition was one of the highlights of a fair enjoyed by more than 80,000 people, its largest audience to date. Ian Harford, chief executive of Countryman Fairs, the company that organised the show, told ST: “The Midland really is the meeting place for all fieldsportsmen and this year’s show has proved to be the best year ever. We would like to thank everyone who made it happen.”
