Cost of badger cull criticised
DEFRA’s proposals for a badger cull to tackle bovine TB have been criticised by the Labour party, after farming minister Jim Paice revealed that each 350km2 “cull zone” could cost as much as £1.4m. Shadow environment secretary Mary Creagh said: “It is a huge amount when people are already being squeezed by rising fuel, feed and fertilizer prices.”
