Farmers back land campaign

As the Campaign for the Farmed Environment celebrates its second anniversary, new figures have revealed that farmers have actively placed more than 50,000 hectares of land into schemes aimed at protecting the environment since the campaign began. Agriculture minister Jim Paice thanked farmers for their support, but reiterated the need for effective co-operation as the campaign heads into its third year.
