Impact of warm weather
Neil Clark, Natural England’s area manager for Cumbria, has told a meeting of the Heather Trust that the pace and scale of change in the uplands is accelerating and that climate change “is taking us into uncharted territory”. He said: “Nature is remarkably resourceful, but it is our collective responsibility to ensure that the much-loved environments of the uplands are in the best possible condition to adapt to these challenges.”
