Survey shows shoots profits
GunsOnPegs published the results of their latest shoot benchmarking survey at the Game Fair. This year’s survey, in conjunction with Smiths Gore, involved 110 shoots, putting down between them over one million birds over a total area of 350,000 acres. It reveals that 58 per cent of commercial shoots are profit-making. GunsOnPegs’ James Horne said: “It is not just large shoots that can be profitable — over 40 per cent of the profit-making shoots put down less than 10,000 birds.” For more on this story, see page 16.
