The first winner of the Bellamy Trophy has been announced
A gamekeeper from Kent is the first winner of the Bellamy Trophy. The award was the brainchild of Professor David Bellamy and the National Gamekeepers’ Organisation (NGO) Charitable Trust. Launched last year, the award recognises those who display exceptional creativity and initiative in promoting the gamekeeper’s role in sustainable countryside management.
The 31-year-old winner, Guy Ledger, a headkeeper at Otterden Estate, Faversham, Kent, said: “I am delighted. It’s a tremendous honour. It’s also a great surprise.
