An advisory council set up to give advice to gundog breeders met for the first time earlier this month
The independent Advisory Council on the Welfare Issues of Dog Breeding met for the first time earlier this month. The DEFRA-supported group aims to develop an action plan to combat health problems caused by inherited disease and exaggerated features. Glynn Evans, game and gamekeeping officer at BASC, said: “We welcome the formation of the advisory council. Any advice that it can produce that will help gundog breeders will be useful.”
