Harrods teams up with BASC to promote game in its famous Food Hall as National Taste of Game Fortnight takes off

Harrods has invited BASC into its famous Food Hall to promote National Taste of Game Fortnight, which runs from 6 to 20 November. Ten thousand Harrods-branded BASC game recipe leaflets have been printed and will be given out at the London store.

BASC’s director of operations, Simon Hamlyn, said: “We are delighted to have teamed up with Harrods and hope that this partnership will encourage more people to enjoy eating game.”

BASC is also to bring game to the capital through a gametasting event at London’s Borough Market where people will be able to sample a traditional taste of game and game with a tandoori twist prepared by some of the UK’s top chefs, including broadcaster Mike Robinson.

Many local and regional events are taking place as part of Taste of Game Fornight, including the sale of a special beer at a Cheshire pub. Customers at the Yew Tree Inn, in Bunbury, will be able to order a pint of “Game’s On” until 20 November.

Yew Tree landlord Jon Cox said: “Game’s On is a traditional English ale, hand crafted by the local Dunham Massey Brewing Company. It is a fantastically clean, hoppy, traditional English tawny ale.”
