A video posted on YouTube about airguns has been withdrawn by Cheshire Police
Cheshire police have withdrawn a video they posted on YouTube about airguns after a complaint from BASC’s senior firearms officer Mike Eveleigh.
The film featured a police officer, wearing body armour and carrying a handgun, standing in a police shooting range and portrayed airgunners in what they felt to be a negative and condescending light.
The anonymous officer who presented the film referred to airguns as weapons and incorrectly stated that the legal age to buy an airgun is 17 years when it is, in fact, 18. He also said it was not permitted to carry an airgun down the street. Both statements are incorrect.
