DEFRA minister announces cull of badgers
At the Devon County Show last month DEFRA minister Jim Paice MP announced that a scientifically led cull of badgers is to be introduced in Devon and Cornwall to combat bovine TB. The Government says it is examining how best to roll out the policy, with a pilot vaccination scheme due to start across England this month. DEFRA has yet to decide exactly where the culling will take place and who will carry it out.
