Electric shock collars will be banned in Wales subject to approval by the National Assembly for Wales
The use of electric shock collars will be banned in Wales subject to approval by the National Assembly for Wales.
On 24 February, Waless rural affairs minister Elin Jones AM laid the legislation, the 2010 Animal Welfare (Electronic Collars) (Wales) Regulations, before the Assembly, which will now need to agree to the legislation before a ban can be implemented.
Elin Jones said: Following careful consideration of the responses to the consultation, I have laid legislation before the National Assembly for Wales which will ban the use of electric shock collars in Wales.
