A new initiative aims to improve the police reponse to poaching through a leaflet and poster drop to every force across England and Wales

A new initiative to teach police and others about the modern face of poaching was launched recently by a group of organisations including the National Wildlife Crime Unit (NWCU), the Environment Agency, BASC and the Deer Initiative. Entitled “Poacher’s Moon”, the initiative aims to improve the police response to poaching through a leaflet and poster drop to every force across England and Wales.

The leaflets detail the dangers of poaching, how it should be tackled and what people should expect when they report an incident.
