A black cocker spaniel stolen in December 2009 is found after a nationwide appeal
Archie, a black cocker spaniel stolen from Selena Masson, a regular writer for Shooting Times, has been found after 14-months and a nationwide appeal.
Thieves in East Sussex smashed a window of a pick-up truck on a shoot day in December 2009 and took a crow-bar to the dog cage within to get the spaniel out.
Archie was the subject of a nationwide "Find Archie" campaign, running in the shooting press as well as in regional and national media.
He was recovered today, 17 January, in Godstone, Surrey, and handed in to the local RSPCA centre together with a small Jack Russell bitch. Archie had an ear tattoo and a microchip, which meant he could be easily identified, however, the RSPCA is still trying to trace the owner of the Jack Russell.
