Teaching children outdoors in the countryside

By Selena Masson

Thursday, 10 December 2009

Children are to have greater access to the countryside as part of their learning

In response to the Countryside Alliance’s (CA) Rural Manifesto, which calls for greater access to the countryside for children as part of their education, an early day motion (EDM) titled Learning Outside the Classroom was tabled on 18 November by Liberal Democrat MP Bob Russell (pictured above). The CA’s Charley May said: “This EDM is a perfect opportunity to get outdoor education up the political agenda.”
