Natural England launches plan for uplands

NE's proposals threaten our heather moorland

A document which examines how our uplands will be managed over the next 50 years has been launched by Natural England

Natural England launched Vital Uplands — A 2060 Vision for England’s Uplands earlier this month, which examines how our uplands will be managed over the next 50 years, particularly regarding upland grazing: “The level of upland grazing needs to be matched to deliver different environmental services, such as more, and better managed, woodland. In 50 years’ time Natural England would like to see up to 25 per cent of the uplands with some form of woodland cover.”
