Hunting Act being replaced by a Conservative Government

In the event of the 2004 Hunting Act being repealed by a Conservative Government, foxhunters will be regulated by a new governing body that will have the power to levy fines of up to £5,000 for misconduct. Plans for the new body, which has the backing of senior member of the shadow cabinet William Hague, are being drawn up by barristers. Once a chairman for the new watchdog has been appointed, applications will be invited for members.
