British Shooting’s performance director John Leighton-Dyson has hit out at UK Sport’s shock announcement that the budget for 2012 Olympic shooting is to be cut considerably

Mr Leighton-Dyson said: “When the Government changed the [firearms] law after Dunblane, they crippled the sport of pistol shooting in this country. This is another attack.” A meeting with UK Sport is scheduled for the second week of January to determine how much money will be allotted to shooting sports.
