Scotlands natural environment is worth £17.2billion a year to its economy, according to a new report titled Valuing Our Environment, which was commissioned by a Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH)-led partnership.
The report also showed that Scotlands wildlife is one of the main reasons why people visit.
SNHs Andrew Thin said: This report shows that the natural environment is fundamental to the prosperity of this country and more than simply a backdrop to a successful tourism industry.
The full report is available at Scottish Natural Heritage
