New guidance for shoot managers on the transportation of beaters and pickers-up has been published by BASC.
The advice sheet includes information on the latest health and safety regulations and how the new smoking laws may affect shoots.
Head of Marketing, David Ilsley, said: "One area of shoot management that is often not given sufficient consideration is the transportation of shoot workers which is why we have published this guidance."
"On many shoots the only transport available for beaters and pickers up is a tractor and open trailer which can be unsafe. It is vital to ensure that transportation for shoot workers is up to scratch."
The guidance is available to download from the BASC website.
