Mark Gilchrist, whose business specialises in producing homemade game pies, has been named as the Institute of Directors Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Kent, at the Kent Show on 13 July.

Frazer Thompson, chairman, Institute of Directors for Kent said: "Mark won because he best fitted, in the opinion of the four judges, the criteria for a successful entrepreneur. Namely, he convinced us he has a fierce passion for what he is doing, he believes game can change the world, he's good at what he's doing and knows the value of what he's doing."

Mark's company, Game For Everything, which is based in Rolvenden, produces a range of homemade game pies as well as hampers using fresh seasonal produce. The company, which is in its second year, also caters for large events including weddings and gives cookery demonstrations.

The 26-year old also works in conjunction with the Game Conservancy Trust and BASC, to increase awareness of game amongst non-shooting people and regularly appears on television and radio.

As a prize, Mark gets membership of the Kent Association of Young Entrepreneurs (KAYE), a certificate and trophy as well as the chance to speak at the Young Entrepreneurs Dinner next year.

He will be at this years CLA Game Fair on stand R79.
