Department of Health to offer free flu vaccinations for poultry workers
In an effort to combat the perceived risk of bird flu, the Department of Health is intending to offer people working in close contact with poultry free flu vaccinations as a precautionary health measure. The programme hopes to prevent workers from getting seasonal (human) flu, and reduce any risk that individuals could catch avian and human flu at the same time — thus preventing a new virus emerging.
