BASC introduces MP Barry Gardiner to shooting at Holland and Holland’s grounds
On Monday, 20 November, just weeks after pledging his support for fishing, DEFRA minister Barry Gardiner was taken claypigeon shooting at the Holland & Holland shooting ground, in Middlesex, by BASC. The outing was intended to introduce the MP to shotgun shooting and answer any questions he might have.
Christopher Graffius, of BASC, organised the session. He told ST: “The minister shot well for a beginner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He also voiced the Government’s support for shooting. This support of shooting was underlined when he spoke at the BASC rural reception at the Labour Party Conference this year, but it is reassuring to hear again. Mr Gardiner is the MP for Brent North — and, believe it or not, he has 59 BASC members in his constituency.”
