The 2007 Norwich Beer Festival
Seeing as we were just outside Norwich, we thought it would be rude not to pop into the local beer festival, which (coincidentally!) was on at the same time.
Luckily for us we got to tag along with the crowd from Bidwells, for whom a few ales at the beer festival followed by a curry, is an annual fixture.
Even mid-week the hall was packed and, with over 200 real ales from Britain's independent breweries, there was plenty of choice. We opted for half pint glasses and worked our way round until we thought it best to stop!
However, the big story of the night was the fact that a sparrow hawk had flown into the hall when they were setting up and then decided to stay put in the rafters and poop on anyone brave enough to play skittles -it even made the local news!
The Norwich Beer Festival continues for the rest of this week and is held at St. Andrew's and Blackfriars' Halls on St. Andrew's Street.
